3M's Health Information Systems (HIS) Division is a global leader in healthcare software, analytics, and data-driven solutions. The division supports hospitals, health systems, and healthcare organizations by enabling accurate clinical documentation, revenue integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency across complex healthcare environments. As part of 3M HIS's ongoing digital modernization initiatives, BAAS partnered with the division to design, develop, and enhance a mission-critical enterprise software solution supporting healthcare information workflows. BAAS collaborated closely with 3M HIS product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver a custom-built, scalable enterprise solution focused on improving scalability, system performance, data reliability, and user experience while maintaining strict healthcare and enterprise compliance standards.

Project Overview

3M HIS faced several challenges common to large-scale healthcare platforms: managing high-volume, complex healthcare data workflows, ensuring system reliability and availability for mission-critical use cases, integrating seamlessly with existing enterprise and healthcare systems, maintaining strong security, privacy, and compliance controls, supporting future growth without requiring major system rework, and enhancing usability for internal teams while minimizing operational disruption.
